What was truly awful, we had to touch the muddy door handles that the bears had slobbered over! Ick! But so glad we weren't in the car when they arrived to see what they could find!
I was enjoying the trip up to now! Bears! Oh how scary! I am so glad you didn't bump into any - even though it would have been a great photo opportunity! Lol!
Ugh, not fun. Were you away from the car - like walking about. I was in a tent as a child and woke up at night to see a bear walk under the yawning of the tent. Never want to be that close again.
@bill_fe@kchuk@seanna@daily50@vera365@joansmor@jamibann@susale@pamknowler@jamibann@eyesmile@johannaf@julzmaioro@irisn@agedrunner -- Thank you all for your concern! I agree with @kchuk that the paw print was like a calling card on the door, and while I had been the one who was frightened of running into a bear in the wild, once we returned from our day hike with no bear sighting, I got brave and decided it would actually be fun to see a bear close enough to photograph, but safely from within Daryl's car. Of course, the only ones we were able to photograph were wooden ones :) @darylo and @taffy and I are all back at our respective homes, but we know that this week will bring us days of processing our wonderful memories both through photographs and through stories. Thanks for joining us on our Smoky Mountains adventure!
