I only had a mid-range zoom this day, so rather unbelievably, I was trying to capture that tiny little bird sitting on a rock in the top left corner from my vantage point of sitting in a restaurant on the second floor. Seriously. Who'd be crazy enough to attempt that with this lens? When all of a sudden, a bicyclist came into my viewfinder, balancing a decorated cake! I moved my camera to center him a bit more and clicked. So here he is, centrally framed, and the bird is a mere tiny dot in the corner. SOOC to show off Costa Rica's strong sunlight.
Although it's hard to tell with the foreground overhanging roof, this is a street where cars, taxis, minivans, multi-rider bicycles, carts, etc. go by constantly (It's the main drag for Puerto Viejo) so it's quite busy and the cake-balancing act is a real achievement!
@vankrey -- if only you knew how many times I wasn't ready, and how many images will have to remain in my head, it's a miracle that I caught this one. And all because I wanted to get that dot of a bird.
@anazad511 -- seriously, right? My bet is that he made it safely to his destination with the cake intact. I frequently saw people riding while balancing everything from pipes to grass trimmers to glass jugs of milk! And often, with a passenger balanced precariously in front and/or back.
