Seeing people interact with this sprinkler right in the middle of the Wroclaw market square reminded me of many stories I had read of how fire hydrants were opened up on hot summer days in US cities. Little children ran through, getting completely soaked like this little girl. Others timidly stood on the edge of the water's spray, tipping their heads in. Some parents pushed their baby prams through, or rode through on their bikes with children sitting in the back. Children squealed, teens yelled, but adults almost silently passed through. All enjoyed the brief reprieve from the hot, hot day.
Such a lovely capture! Love your story too about the fire hydrants in the US. We don't have them in the UK and you have given me a great picture of what people did on hot summer days.
