THE "Completo" at Fuente Alemana by jyokota

THE "Completo" at Fuente Alemana

Truly a memorable last meal in Chile. We had been in search of this sandwich shop which had remained elusive to us throughout our stay. We couldn't find the street name on the map (turns out that the street has two names, and Google Maps only registers one), we had finally made our way there one day and it was closed, but we prevailed, because Chilean graduate students in the USA had promised that we would be "shocked and awed" -- and we were not disappointed! Here is the "completo" which includes piles of meat, avocado, tomato, grilled cheese and some kind of dried cabbage. Of all the photos that Taffy and I took in the restaurant, I chose this one because it included the tower of napkins which are necessary to eat this meal. If only this German-Chilean sandwich shop had more locations around the world!

Better that we don't have access! What an amazing last lunch together -- really the most awesome sandwich ever.
