late rose by kali66

late rose

the last dublin Bay rose covered in dew this morning, I have real trouble photographing red flowers, I discovered I need to slightly underexpose. I used the mixer brush tool on the background (thanks for the idea snapchap). my painting needs work but thats it for now.
Wow - beautifully done :)

So beautiful. Thanks for the discussion of how you got this great photo. I have trouble with white flowers - so underexposing could help. I never think of that. I absolutely love the painting idea. How did you do this?

@pam1 Pamela if you have photoshop look for the mixer brush tool, you paint with it and it smears the colours that are there, for this i masked the flower so it just picked up the background colours. takes a bit of experimenting to get the right brush and strokes for the job
