as of today, 2 and a half years since the earthquake and tsunami crippled the fukushima power plant, the Japanese government has finally realised that the response to date has been woefully inadequate. An estimated 300 tonnes of radioactive water is entering the Pacific Ocean from the site daily. They do not know how to stop it.
They have got there eventually. Shame it took so long. Maybe they might have worked out how to stop it by now if they had acknowledged it earlier. Lovely photo.
Such unsettling information -- and the metaphor of the power of the waves to convey the issue is perfect. That, and then it's a stunning shot in its own right.
Fantastic capture Kali! I didn't realize that contaminated water was still making its way into the ocean. It makes you wonder how this will affect marine life and particularly the fish we eat?
@genesis_one haha i thought someone would notice this! unfortunately i have seen maps that indicate even we are getting some of the radioactivity down here, and as it is an ongoing insurmountable problem it can only get worse
Awesome !
