These beans are really black and white, so a perfect subject for bw-bookclub, I grew these rare Iroquois heirlooms from amongst several kinds of seeds imported into New Zealand by Central tree-crops research trust in order to help preserve them.
read all about it here http://treecropsresearch.org/heirloom-beans/bean-import-project/
Wonderful! I was going to suggest that they looked like Runner beans but as you say, they are B&W. I am sure that most beans look like most other types of beans anyway.
@steampowered once you start collecting them you realise the diversity, apparently over 4000 different varieties in the US alone, of all shapes and colours.Jewels
Wonderful b&w. At first glance I thought they were shellfish in a net. I love the photo and am so interested to hear you are involved in tree crops preservation. At the moment I have some climbing Italian bean seeds growing which I don't know the name of so am dying to see what colour flowers they have. My runner beans are still flowering and look stunning.
feels more like a coffee shop shot (stylistic preference comment---im a hardnosed bastard amok decrying starbucks and the hipster fray of art assimilation and facsimiled replication), but i like that there is a vividness of contrast and life in a single-subject and single-focus monochrome.
