I had no real idea how to do this one. In the end I just took a photo (with my new camera) of the computer screen reflected in the side of the computer with a plastic bag in the bottom left corner. My thinking.....the ocean is littered with plastic.....plastic is everywhere.....my new camera came in a box with plastic packaging! My desktop is set up to display a new background picture every day....and today, surprise surprise it was a view of a shoal of fish ( they obviously knew it was world ocean day!
It is not a good picture, as it is not well composed, but I was running out of ideas and time to complete this daily challenge.
My new camera is a Fuji XT-30. A sort of budget version of the XT-3 - I am hoping I won't regret my choice. Reviewers rate the camera, and only point out a few downsides in comparison to the more expensive model, ie poorer viewfinder, less grip area as a smaller body, and less video recording time. As I have small hands the smaller body and less weight seem to not be an issue for me. I also can't see me using the camera to shoot long videos either! As for weather proofing - I don't think I will be out in the rain for long periods of time either and some reviewers pointed out that when testing the camera in light showers of rain, or slightly damp conditions they didn't experience any problems. So all in all, I didn't feel I could justify spending any more money on a camera that wasn't giving me much more in the way of features. I thought it more appropriate to use that extra towards a macro lens. (More of that in another post)
