Today I was keen to try using my macro lens. I could not justify spending a lot of money on the 80mm lens although I would have liked it...but instead went for the 60mm. This is fine for now. My problem today was that it was too windy. I tried hand held, but just as I took the picture the autofocus did all sorts of weird things before it took the picture. I tried a semi manual mode. Set to f/11 and the camera chose ISO 1250 and a shutter speed of 1/90 s. The bee is just about in focus and overall is quite a pleasing shot. I did take another set of shots using the tripod, but again, the wind was an issue. I need to now learn how to manually focus using the macro lens rather than relying on the camera's autofocus.
