Today I tried a few things that I had in the house that were turquoise. One I thought would work well was a Japanese tea bowl - but I didn't like the actual results. Another was a turquoise heart shaped cushion, but again I was not happy with the composition or how it looked in the photographs. Then I found the above paperweight amongst my collection. It was turquoise and white, but by positioning it in the bathroom against a white tile background the colours appeared more vivid somehow. I like the overall effect and I am pleased with the clarity of the glass and the bubbles in the glass itself. I had much better results using my macro lens than my standard 18-55mm lens. I took the shot hand held - again amazed at the result really.
