Not sure what kind of geese these guys are with the bright orange feet, but they joined in with the Snow Geese that are hidden in the cornfield.
P.S. My 365 friend Jane @cejaanderson' s sister Mannie has informed me that these orange-footed birds may be Greater White-fronted Geese. Always so much to learn! :)
I'm wondering about these geese too. I am going to tag my sister on this so she can weigh in. It may be some kind of hybrid of a snow goose because of the bright orange feet. Nice capture, Kareen. @mbemis
This is Jane's sister. I'm guessing they're Greater White-fronted Geese because of the white band at the base of the bill--a distinctive feature of that species. But I could be (and often am) wrong. Nice picture.
@cejaanderson@mbemis Thanks, Jane and Jannie for taking the time to help me identify these geese. I find that the more bird photos I capture, the more I want to learn about them! And before getting my camera, I knew pretty much nothing and didn't care either. It's amazing how photography transforms your life.
the black specks in the fields really help to draw you in with the same shades happening with the birds, and the landing of the bird on the left is awesome.....
