We found our cat when she was a baby left alone by her mother in an old barn. She was feral and not very loving. I named her Ruth from the bible since Ruth was so kind. It took Ruth years to trust and purr. Now ten years later she is very sweet and learning to have her picture taken.
This is a beautiful shot of your Ruth. She has lovely markings. I'm glad she learned to accept you as her family.
My last two cats have been feral and they do take a lot of patience. Sometimes they come around, sometimes not so much. The first one I rescued was already an adult, and although she never really tamed down, she did get to the point where I could give her under-the-chin scritches. Angel loved that, but it took years to get there.
Oh my goodness you are a gorgeous lady Ruth! :) Love the story behind her name! It's awesome because her face structure and eyes look similar to my kitty Gabriel...and I named him after the Arch angel from the bible :) Neat :) What a fantastic shot Kathy! :) Love it!
@pasadenarose Thanks for sharing that story about your feral cats. Ruth was the first cat I have owned so was not sure how to work with her. But it seems every cat has its own temperament.
