It's Flooding

This is the road to my home. The river has exploded out of its boundaries and has stopped my travel. It is really nice when the floods come because it is so quiet. But last week I missed my hair appointment because of illness and today because of the flood. This is serious!!! May have to call a helicopter to take me to my appointment! Haha!
Boat? How deep is the water?
I love ow the eye follows the fence line :)

@daffodill A boat is a good idea but the river is running pretty fast. No telling where I would end up. My neighbors said it is about knee deep. He is going to walk out so he can work. It has been much higher in the past. This is scheduled to last about 24 hours then I will be able to drive out.

Hi Kathy, Lovely social history image. Keep it safe. You will forget all of this in a couple of years when we go into drought season.

I like the way you have captured the shot from a low viewpoint. I can sympathise - we have had quite a bit of flooding here in the UK. Thankfully, we live at the top of a bank at the top of a hill so if we flood then there are a lot of folks worse off than us!

Oh no, you'll just have to wear a hat until you can get your hair done! Good photo Kathy

I wondered if you were isolated... good thing your house is up high on the hill! Maybe you should add a horse or two to the farm, then you could ride though the field, but you'd have to get an early start to your hair appointment! Wonderful low perspective!

@staffsknott Thanks for all of your encouraging comments. You are right I am amazed at how quickly I forget things. I will save it.

@steampowered Thank you Paul, Your right floods are very tough on those with low lying homes.

@shirleytemple You are right! My husband is always telling me I should learn the hat look.

@calm Thanks Cathy, The horse idea is good but adds work. The horse would be nice to photograph though.

Love those railings contrasted on the green, nice to see water as a contrast to our hot dry summer we are currently experiencing (another 42C day today).

Oh dear. First this, now no power. Hope things get better.

The horrors! Two weeks overdue for a hair appointment!
You had best hire that helicopter. ;-)

That would mildly freak me out. Not missing the hair appt (well, ok...a little bit of that LOL), but just being trapped in general. Even if I wasn't planning on going anyplace, if I realized I was trapped I'd instantly feel confined. Sort of like claustrophobia.
Hmm, I have a hair appt today AND it's raining here. Sure hope I don't get trapped!

@pasadenarose Thanks for understanding the true emergency that was going on at the time. Haha!
