This little parrot Mr. E loves people. He looks for those who will allow him to sit on their arm. We became fast friends. The staff would like to break him from being so friendly. They said if they put his picture out and a sign to not get close to him he just moves to a new location to make friends. Of course I did not see the sign and let him sit on my arm. Oh well he is really cute.
@eyesmile Thanks Gena, He did not talk but he did show his love in actions. i wanted to take him home. I forgot to say that he lives at a butterfly center.
He is gorgeous - in case you're interested he is a male Eclectus Parrot - they are very smart and make wonderful pets - native to Solomon Islands, Sumba, New Guinea, northeastern Australia and the Maluku Islands (Moluccas). The species displays extreme sexual dimorphism of the colours of the plumage; the male having a mostly bright emerald green plumage and the female a mostly bright red and purple/blue plumage. They are gorgeous birds.
Kathy, he's beautiful, and so nice! If the staff doesn't want people touching him, they should not let him in the center. I think it's cruel NOT to give affection when both parties want it. :o)
