Celebrating 75 years of preserving Maritime History 1938-2013
This is located in Salem, Massachusetts. As you walk by the water there are educational stations that show how the sailors would use the sun and stars to tell their location. They taught about the produce they carried and used. How the raised the sails and how they were able to tell how fast they were going. I learned a lot.
Beautiful capture. Love the composition and the image is wonderful. Love those old sailing ships...so much history and so many stories that could be told.. A really beautiful ship...so many lines! Must have been a large crew..and what exciting voyages they had.
I was on vacation in Salem and really treasured the time we spent in MA. Your incredible photo brings it all back. Have you had the opportunity to visit Mystic Sea Port in Mystic, CT? If you like maritime history, I'll bet you would love it there. It was my favorite place. Also stopped at Mystic Pizza. :)
