This was a very large black snake. Fortunately my dog was a little scared of him and did not try to play.

@jankoos Jan, no they are not dangerous. They are very helpful snakes. They eat small rodents and poisonous snakes. So we like them. I was mostly concerned that my dog would hurt it but he was scared which is good.
