On my way home from work I stopped for a lecture on the Baroque architect Jan Blažej Santini Aichel, who worked in the Baroque Gothic style and whose buildings fascinate me. This year is the 300th anniversary of his death and he is commemorated with many events. Two of his buildings are UNESCO World Heritage Sites (we visited one of them last year - more about it here: https://old.santini.cz/en/zelena-hora ).
Today's lecture took place in the Gothic chapel of St Barbara in a monastery in Pilsen, one of the oldest spaces in my city. I was intrigued by the variation of winged creatures in the vault.
