So today mom would not leave the nest for me to get a shot of what was happening so I went for a walk around the yard to see if she would change her mind and trust me enough to fly off. I saw another nest high up in another tree but I couldnt see into it so had to just shoot the photo blind. I was amazed that this nest had what looks like 2 or maybe three baby birds and an unhatched egg! Now I have two nests to keep an eye on.
The other nest still has mom sitting in it so there must be something happening there too : ) Watch this space ........
UPDATE; 6/16/11
Went to look at the nest again last night and was very upset to find that the baby birds had gone and all that was left was the egg. There were no signs of distress to the nest and no babies on the ground but I am stumped as to who took them? So sad, the other nest the mama wont leave so stay tuned..
