At work today, I changed into my running clothes an hour earlier than usual - out of anger. I am very good at keeping my cool in the face of passive aggressive rudeness (special thanks goes out to the strategist who sits two aisles away from me), but I need my outlet - which is running. So when she was late in her deadline to me, I went to the bathroom to change. As I walked back to my desk to keep on working, a couple of people wished me a good run, to which I replied with admirable self-control: "Oh, I'm not going yet..."
I was at work much later than I thought and didn't get to run... On the way to my car, I set my shoes down on the steps in a creative stroke of genius (ha!).
The bottom line is that I was much more clear headed after I had changed, running or not . I win!
