I recently moved from Tucson, Arizona to Modesto, California.
I finished my Ph.D. in Political Science focusing on American Government and International Relations. I have a...
Beautiful shot. Totally agree. I've often thought of putting a photo book together called National Park trash. Its horrible and so disrespectful. Hope u get feeling better.
I totally agree though to be honest, I can't see the garbage in this photo. Perhaps it's because I can't locate my glasses at the moment. Beautiful waterfall though. Hope you feel better soon!
What a beautiful shot!!! Fav. And I agree, it drives me nuts too. I cant walk down the beach with out stepping on trash people are so lazy and they just dont realize who and what littering can effect.
Trash makes me nuts too! We often find it thrown over the fence into our yard. If Murphy finds it before I do, he'll eat it and get sick! Hope you feel better soon!
Kerri, I have wondered that my self, I will see people at a stop light open their doors and dump their ash trays on the street. Hope you feel better soon.
That is beautiful. I'm always fascinated how people can get the camera to make the water look like that. Wonderful pic. Hope you feel better. I don't understand about the litter thing, either. Sigh.
No answer to the question. today we were caugt in atraffic jam caused ONLY because the mainenance men had to close the nearside lane to allow the litterpicking team to do its Stuff. All totally avoidable if people would only take it home.
People litter because their parents littered. And, their grandparents never smacked their butt for littering. It is like everything else. Kids pretty much do what the parents do.
Your photo is just stunning! I am with you nothing makes me more upset then how lazy some people are. I've been known to yell at people if I see them litter lol. I don't think some people realize just how precious our Earth is and that is sad. Once again great shot and I hope you feel better soon! Hugs :-)
Litterbug: "I don't care.
I just turned my problem into your problem.
You'll spend the amount of time that I saved.
That makes me powerful and important."
Purportedly related observation:
While playing with my 2 yr old nephew I would expend considerable time, effort, and skill to build a house of dominoes for him. He was fascinated all the time I was working and begged me to do it repeatedly and I obliged. Then I encouraged him try it so he could see what was involved and perhaps develop some confidence and skill. He quickly lost interest in this exercise that required his attention and effort to foster skill. But, each time I finished placing all the dominoes and had built a structure maybe 18 inches tall, he'd reach over and knock it down with extreme glee. I realized then that there must be some primitive reward involved, perhaps feeling powerful, in knocking down something that so much effort went into, but there was little or no primitive reward involved in progressively, systematically, building something from nothing if it was difficult for him.
I also helped his mom pick up a room full of toys while she pleaded with him and his sister to help. They had zero interest in placing toys into a box to make the room appear more orderly. However, just a few minutes later, when mom was gone, one of them went to the toy box and started looking for a toy. This involved throwing toys over their shoulder to litter up the entire floor of the room we'd just reordered.
My conclusion was that children have little, perhaps no, appreciation for order and symmetry. They have a single minded focus with most other things seeming to escape their awareness, thought, and appreciation. Their motives and goals were very different than mine and their mom's. And so I believe it is with litterbugs. ;o)
My conclusion is that littler bugs are very much like two year olds, immature, primitively motivated, and power seeking.
because they're lazy creeps and they only think of themselves.. Its shocking how many of them there seem to be.. Still, lovely shot.. Great movement of the water over the falls..
And I completely agree. Litter ticks me off. So many people just don't care; it's infuriating.
Get better soon!
I hope you feel better soon xxx
I guess some just do not care, it is a shame.
