@keithdavid J.D. Sumners made the Guinness Book of World Records 18 years in a row for recording the lowest bass note. This song doesn't quite display his voice that well. Once The Stamps disbanded Sumners created The Masters V which was made up of The Blackwood Brothers and The Statesmen Quartet. The Masters V won a 1981 Grammy for best traditional gospel performance.
In 1971, Sumners and the Stamps toured as Elvis Presley's backup singers, it was even said that Presley idolized this group, and they toured with him until his death in 1977.
