With so much time at home and no where to go, I have started spring cleaning in April ~ which is Autumn here in Australia, so not really 'spring' cleaning.
It's a deep and methodical clean, that is completed in a mindful way and also provides the opportunity to remove those no longer needed items.
It started as my daughters decided to change rooms. So, as all the furniture had to come out of the rooms, it was the perfect opportunity to clean everything before putting it back.
The delight of seeing their new rooms come together is so satisfying for all involved. I immediately thought of Janet B (
@janetb ) and how she captured an item of significance in each room of her house, as she worked her way through spring cleaning.
So Janet, I hope you don't mind, but you are the inspiration behind the next set of photos I will but up here daily for the next little while as I clean our house room by room.
These 'plushes' as they are called these days, belong to my youngest daughter. She has always collected (and kept) all her stuffed toys, since she was very little. They are almost an extension of her.
I loved how she displayed them on these shelves when she moved into her new room. Pride of place, showing how important they are to her life.
Today I am thankful that...
No matter how old my daughter becomes, she still holds value in her childhood toys.
P.S. I still have 3 rooms left to do. I need my husband's help on all 3, but he is so incredibly busy working from home right now helping clients in the midst of the pandemic chaos. I'm hoping to have the remaining 3 done by the end of April...time will tell! :)
