Memorial Continental Hall by khawbecker

Memorial Continental Hall

The Daughters of the American Revolution built the Memorial Continental Hall in the early 1900s. The Conference on the Limitation of Armament took place here after WWI in 1921. After completion of the larger Constitution Hall in 1929, this space became the DAR Library, which houses over 150,000 genealogical and historical volumes.

@cljs @pdulis @moxy Thank you for your compliments. I loved going to see this library. Believe it or not, I've worked across the street from it for over 20 years and this was the first time I've set foot in it. The photo project is helping me discover new things in my own neighborhood.

Beautiful! There are a lot of things going on in the shot, but my eye is drawn to the one single table light on and then to the clock.

@davydo Thanks, Dave! I'm glad you noticed that single lamp on. It drew my attention too.

What a place! Are the plants for decoration or do they serve some other purpose do you think?

@jantan I think they're for decoration. Next time I go I'll have to get a closer look.
