Simón Bolívar in Snowfall by khawbecker

Simón Bolívar in Snowfall

A gift from the Venezuelan government, this statue of Simón Bolívar was installed in this park across the street from the U.S. Department of the Interior in 1955. Simón Bolívar helped to lead Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia to independence from the Spanish Empire. The statue's dark granite base provided an excellent contrast to the falling snow today.
Love this snowy picture and the history lesson. Too bad Venezuela is having so many issues now.

Beautifully shot Karen! Still cannot over the radical difference in our weather. It was 76 degrees here yesterday when you took this lovely picture.
