This is the side view of this house, known locally as the Porter House. The front of the house is the oldest section, built in 1872 by Dr. Porter, a dentist. It was one of the first houses on the top of the bluff. By 1938, when my grandfather purchased this property, it was considered the local haunted house with broken windows and deep dirt on the main floor. My grandfather renovated the house. It has been in my family since then and is the house in which I spent my childhood.
That's a great capture Karen! The house looks so great now! The narrative you provided was a nostalgia trip for Deb on this Memorial Day, recalling lots of fond childhood memories for her. Thanks!
The angel of this photo is spot on with the up view, rose in the foreground and tree sweeping in from the top left. And of course the subject -- the Hanselmann House looking spectacular! What wonderful memories.
Must have been a great house to grow up in.
