Champion American Elm by khawbecker

Champion American Elm

The sun finally returned this afternoon, so I returned to nearby Rippon Lodge, which is the oldest house in Prince William County. Not surprisingly, there are a number of champion trees on the grounds, among which is the American Elm in the background of this photo of the lodge.
Beautiful place, great clarity and color, love that big tree!

What a difference from earlier in the year. There's also a Rippon WI, so that's where I initially thought these were taken.
