Dhobi Tree Blossom

The Dhobi tree grows wild in India, but is also cultivated in the Haupt Garden near the Smithsonian Castle in Washington, D.C. Its melodious scientific name is Mussaenda Frondosa.
I have never seen this before. Great image of such beauty! Fav.

I presume the name derives from the white bracts looking like washing hanging on the tree - and the hindi word for washing/laundry. Whatever the history, the image is very beautiful.
