A photo from last January in a fog bank. After I had completed taking my pictures for the day, a storm front blew in quite ferociously and took the fog and its magic away with it.
Gunston Hall is an old plantation house that was built by George Mason, drafter of the Virginia Declaration of Rights in its constitution--the first legal statement on religious freedom in the world. It states: That Religion, or the duty which we owe to our CREATOR, and the manner of discharging it, can be directed only by reason and conviction, not by force or violence; and therefore, all men are equally entitled to the free exercise of religion, according to the dictates of conscience, and that it is the mutual duty of all to practice Christian forbearance, love, and charity, towards each other.
Love it... I actually played the role of a school teacher there way back in the 1980's for a National Geographic photographer who was getting staged scenes for a film strip (old technology these days). Beautiful image and a fav!
