This bridge crosses Bull Run. Two U.S. Civil War battles occurred in the vicinity of this small waterway. The original 1825 bridge was destroyed in 1861 in the first major engagement of the Civil War, known as the First Battle of Bull Run to northerners and the First Battle of Manassas to southerners. It was rebuilt in 1884 on the same location as the original. It is part of the Manassas National Battlefield Park.
