@landryta85 Tara, Oh, you must. It's a wonderful place run by the National Park Service. It's free. The grounds are lovely and the history is amazing. I have some additional photos from this place. Click on my "chatham manor" tag to see some of the others.
@khawbecker will definitely have to check the place as well as the photos. When do u feel is the best season to go? Have u ever been to kenmore plantation in downtown Fredericksburg? Amazing grounds. Confederate cemetery in walking distance. I love the history being right in my back yard.
@landryta85 Spring and Summer, I think, are the best times to go, when the gardens are blooming. There were still late blooms in October, but earlier is better. I have been to Kenmore and have toured it more than once. I love the nearby cemetery. I haven't been recently or gone to get photos for my project this year. I need to go back soon.
@khawbcker will have to keep that place in mind for the spring, maybe even when we get our first snow. The cemetery is amazing when all the wreath are out for the soldiers.
