Live oaks can grow to massive size, and this is one of the largest and oldest - if not the oldest - of the old oaks on the MS Gulf Coast. It is located in Long Beach, and legend says it was a sapling when Columbus landed. I've been unable to locate the facts, but I can testify that it is an amazing tree. I couldn't stand far enough back to get the outside edges because there was a building in the way. Note the street light on the right for size perspective and remember that this is ONE tree.
