Rounding the corner

We spend the afternoon at the final stage of the USA Pro Challenge bicycle race. It's a Very Big Deal here in bike-crazy Colorado. I took over 300 pictures, and I need to delete probably 250 or more of them. Things happened very fast, and it was a real learning experience for me. I like this shot less for the action of the riders than for the reaction of the people on the side of the street. No cropping and only some processing to adjust for the very bright sunlight and very high ISO. I was shooting in aperture mode. I'm not confident enough to shoot in manual, and I've had problems with shutter speed mode. It's a bit rough, but I think it captures some of the spirit of the event.
Great sharp capture Kathleen Fav

Great action shot - you must have been standing very close!

Thanks very much! We were on the curb on the other side of the street, which was a narrow two-lane downtown. The racers passed within inches at times.
