Storm Over Wolf Creek by khrunner

Storm Over Wolf Creek

Most of the time you can see for miles from the top of Wolf Creek Pass. This time, the clouds were sitting on the mountain. I took this just before the wind came up and it started to snow. At that point, we exited the overlook and headed on.
Love the drama!! What a great scene!

I really like that splash of brilliant yellow that draws the eye up toward the mist.

Love this -- beautifully composed and the mist really adds to it.

@tremerryn Wolf Creek Pass is 10,856 feet high or 3,309 m. (I hope that conversion is correct - I found it on Google). It's notorious for bad weather. We had been expecting snow all morning and were just glad it held off that long. You learn quickly living here to always have winter clothing in the car when you head to the high country.

Kathleen, I've just been looking through your project and am amazed at all your fantastic photos. I am now following you. Is Richard related to you?

@shepherdmanswife Thank you very much! Yes, Richard is my husband. You will probably notice that we take pictures in the same places.
