We went southern style for Thanksgiving this year and made my grandmother’s dressing (aka stuffing for people not from North Carolina), it is sooo good! It made me smile using her recipe because she was known for saying use a “pinch” or a bit of something, usually few precise measurements. Her dressing recipe says “bake until brown” instead of having a temperature or time listed, I love that. It’s the little things that bring back such warm memories.
It's nice you were able to have this warm memory to mark the day. I had planned to spend mine without marking the day but a friend dropped off a plate for dinner so I had a Thanksgiving Dinner after all. I'm not a seasoned cook so pinches and "until" are not precise enough markers for me. Good thing it works for you!
