Looking through some old boxes with my grandson and found this. My husband's grandfather was an engineer, munitions, in the First World War. I'm investigating the origin of this, was it something he got as a soldier? Did someone make it for him?
Year twelve! I'm enjoying life getting back to normal post-COVID restrictions. We're back to travelling and getting out and about more.
Year Eleven! ...
What a precious heirloom Kim, two things spring to mind a gift from a loved one, or more possibly something made by your husband's grand father himself, there are lots of examples of items of embroidery produced whilst world war one soldiers were wounded to help with thier recovery:)
