This was a very special Christmas gift that started years ago with my Mom. She sent me a small pewter mouse for Christmas. The next year I added another mouse on a whim and sent them both back with a note saying they had met, fallen in love and gotten married. We exchanged back and forth for years, adding new little animals and notes, until she passed away. The following Christmas my daughter gave me a small deer, with a note saying it was from the area where my Mom had lived. She began the tradition between us, that I had started with my own mother years ago. This year it was a whale with a mask for COVID-19, marking the birth of my second grandson. I was delighted to see the mask and it's always fun when it's my turn to add a new animal to the box! So begins my quest...
Year twelve! I'm enjoying life getting back to normal post-COVID restrictions. We're back to travelling and getting out and about more.
