Never Give Up!

This is an arbutus tree. Their outer layer of dark, rough bark often peels to reveal the reddish-brown "skin" underneath. It has been really dry lately and a lot of them are now peeling that layer to reveal the lime-green underneath. Despite that, this arbutus is sending out new leaves and continuing to grow.
