It was quite a miserable day with rain and dark clouds for the most part. But in the late afternoon it cleared a little, so I took the two older kids along to my old athletics club to try it out. They did some running, long jump, discus and shotput between them, and made a few new friends. It was the first night of the season for the club, and I was impressed at the turnout which must have been around 100 kids. I spent many happy years going along to this club when I was their age, so it was lovely to be able to share that with them.
