Blue Dutch Iris

Another variety of Dutch Iris in my garden - it's a real rich blue, with white edges to the petals. Very unusual.
What I find surprising is the ground underneath that still grows such lovely specimens that you take nice photo's of. It looks very gravelly - did your soil do that liquification stuff with the earthquake?

@ssimon We are on an ancient river bed - about a foot of top soil and then shingle. Not good when you need to dig holes to plant trees, but great in the earthquake! No liquifaction at all.
