Agapanthus orientalis

Nile lily - a darker than usual one in my neighbour's garden.
Lovely. Never knew it was called a Nile Lily. I'm smiling that across the different hemispheres, we both put up a picture of the same flower on the same day not 6 minutes apart from each other.

Tat is a very pretty blue, it must be shorter to get above it like that!!

@ssimon You can see the stem coming off at three o'clock - the stem is growing out at about a 45 degree angle, so in fact the flower is much closer to the ground than if it was growing straight up.
