Great shot of this pesky bird - Western Australia patrols the borders, stopping them coming over: http://www.agric.wa.gov.au/PC_93049.html

@andrina @ssimon @nana2r Thanks for your comments. Yes Stephen, they are an extremely invasive species. Thanks for the link - it was an interesting read.

@cazann Thanks Caz. It was a beautiful sunny (cold) day yesterday. We've had rain for a few days, clear yesterday, raining again today, snow forecast tomorrow!

@kiwiflora Snow ??? Is that unusual ?
June 19th, 2013
@cazann It is unusual for the Canterbury Plains at sea level! Before we lived here, there was possibly snow once in 10 years. Two years ago we had the '10 year fall', followed two weeks later by a bigger fall which was called 'the fall of a generation'. However, last year we had another big fall which was followed overnight by a -7 frost! So who knows?? Forecast keeps changing - might now only get sleety showers. But we are prepared for the snow, which in the previous falls has meant being house-bound for 2 days. I'll keep you posted.
