From top to bottom:
A book I read for book club which was an infuriatingly frustrating read due to it being written in the second person and full of purple prose. No thank you
A domestic fiction that was an average read
A memoir that was also an average read
A crime story that was an enjoyable gritty read
A mystery thriller that was a good read but there are too many characters to remember
I love the way you always present your books here, most of them I have not even heard of. I hate it when there are too many characters, it gets rather confusing ;-)
I don't normally read fiction, but a friend gave me a book recently and I lost track of who the people were as there were too many for me to remember. I won't be reading that authors books again.
I usually read non-fiction because I tend to lose track of characters and they all seem to have names beginning with the same letter just to confuse me more!
@summerfield I've only just started reading her books, this is my second and I wasn't a fan of either but I have been assured by many people that the rest of her books are really good.
I appreciate your monthly reads photos. Most of the time I have never heard of the books and often the authors. Purple prose is a description I'm not familiar with and it reminds me of other authors I've read with whom I get exasperated.
Sounds like a frustrating month over all on the reading list. Purple prose, second person and a cast of thousands- each one of them would be a good reason for me NOT to finish a book, so I admire you for sticking to it and finishing them.
Lovely shot. I used to spend many hours of the day but now half an hour or maybe a bit more after I start reading my eyes will be crying for a nap because my reading time is after lunch.
I like your choice of books.
