Hey @kjarn posting on an old photo of yours (So wish there was a private messaging system on this site!) I saw on one of Jocelyn's photos that you mentioned she'd started a thread and had deleted it, I was wondering what it was about... was it about how she edits her photos or something?
@breigh I wish there was a private messaging system too! She put up one of her photos asking for critique and mentioned that despite following and being followed by hundreds of people she wasn't getting many comments. The first few comments were subtle hints at a bit of over editing but then a bunch of people had a go at her because of the self love she writes in her tags and then a bunch had a go about the over editing. She tells me that she has learned and grown from it.
@kjarn aaah I had a feeling it was something like that. I wish I could have read it (I'm so nosy) I hate when people delete stuff. That's a lot of the reasons I stopped following (although I do peek in from time to time out of curiosity, to see if anything has changed). The over editing, self love and also the fact that she never seems to interact at all. Hopefully she has learned from it but hey, if you ask for critique people are going to give it, I guess!
@breigh I have given her my opinion many times, I often suggest that she smiles, stops the airbrushing and joins in more but she has never responded to those suggestions. Over the last few days I notice that she is commenting on a few people's photos ( even mine) but the self love continues. Each to their own I suppose. I'm really nosy too and I usually miss all the gossip :)
@kjarn I have commented on a few of her more natural photos, just telling her I liked them more than the beauty shots... I didn't feel right commenting or saying anything otherwise. I mean she's a beautiful girl and obviously talented with makeup and processing. To look at one of her photos is WOAH!! After looking at 50 it sort of seems like the same thing with a different background or prop. That, together with the tags (wow, the tags, I wish I had that confidence!!) and the lack of participation, it started to feel like a very one sided 'relationship', so to speak, so I stopped following. To be honest, I've been wondering for a long time if it was just me, it's a bit of a relief to find out that others felt the same, was feeling like a bit of a judgemental biatch there for a bit haha
