Brisbane by night.

I flew up to Brisbane to attend the SEQ 365 meetup and had a great weekend. This is a view of Brisbane City from my hotel balcony.

This is the first time my little camera has been used off auto.Thanks to @brizmako for his tuition and the use of his tripod.

Wow, great night shot and congrats on taking the camera off auto!! That view is fantastic, you sure picked a good vantage point to practice night shots.

I can honestly say I have never been as impressed by a point & shoot camera as I was by your little Lumix. You've hit all the right marks with this shot (even got some little star-flares on the concentrated lights at the bottom right) but just imagine how much more freedom you're gonna have when you get that new enthusiast level camera. You're ready to be let free with your skillz, let them free, Kathy. Free your fruity skillz! :D

Yay, great stuff. Lack of inspiration and uncooperative kids do my head in. What part of "Don't move while I try and get my HDR shots!" does Lachie not understand??? After all, he is nearly 2.
