Books I read in January by kjarn

Books I read in January

From top to bottom:
A chick lit that I enjoyed, a nice easy read
A crime story that I really enjoyed, great read
A mystery/thriller that I enjoyed, great read
A general fiction that I enjoyed, nice read
A general fiction that was ok, too flowery
A psychological thriller that I enjoyed, good read
I do enjoy Coben novels, good entertainment. And I listened to Crawdads while on a trip a year or so ago and really loved it. Good to have suggestions for more!

Ooh not read any of these - I like your book stacks you do every month. Always so interesting to see what you thought of them.

A bit of a colour theme with all these, blues and pinks! I keep seeing Where the Crawdads Sing everywhere at the moment! I've not read any of these.

@jb030958 I’ve never heard of anyone not loving that book. I liked it but didn’t love it

Nice composition. Ah books, I love 'em. I'm a slow reader though so only get through about one book a month 😒. Before I retired I worked as an IT trainer in a mental health hospital at Tooting, London. Then to a University hospital in Oxford. Great fun and enjoyed every minute. But I couldn't go on forever!

I like the opportunity to discover new titles and authors. I read "Where the Crawdads Sing" which is set on the coastal side of the state I live on. Not very accurate in some of the traveling, though. Though it was a good read. I just finished a book written in 1924. "The Keeper of the Bees." Wholesome, uplifting, entertaining, suspenseful. I don't often enthusiastically endorse books, but if you are able to lay your hands on a copy of it get it.

It's always fun to see your assessment of the books you chose. I really do think you should do a blog! Haha- I won't give up on suggesting that!

@randystreat thank you for the recommendation, I will keep my eye out for it.

You chose well. And The Keeper of the Bees is definitely one to look for, too.

@jon_lip I love books too, in fact I forgo doing so many things I should be doing just so I can read. I am a mental health nurse in a prison which is quite stressful so I love to just enter other worlds via books
