Coal Loading Tunnel

Went to check out the Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability today, this is one of the coal loading tunnels showing the coal feeders on the roof

@jb030958 there was some really lovely stuff at the fair namely jewellery, clothes and pottery but being an artisan fair they were so so expensive so nothing came home with me

@marlboromaam it was used as a coal loader from the early 1920s until the early 1990s

Are the gutters on both sides to allow water to flow out? The loader rolled along the center? I imagine you were deep underground.The tunnel seems airier and brighter than the usual coal mines.

@randystreat yes the gutters were for water flow and yes the loader rolled along the centre catching the coal that dropped out of those green chutes. It is underground, I was so surprised at how well my phone camera did as it was quite dark

Great shot- such a strong leading line and textures on the rock. I like the repetition of the lights too. Wow- your cell phone did a great job!

@leggzy they have an artisan fair there too on the last Sunday of each season
