Books I read in May

From top to bottom:

A chick lit which was an enjoyable read
A psychological thriller that I really enjoyed
A memoir which was a nice read
I also read a Robin Cook thriller on my kindle which was fast paced and enjoyable
Ooh I think I have Waiting Room. I’ll look it out.

As always impressed by your reading list!

I think I read The Waiting Room a few years ago and may still have a copy of it.

You only read 4 books! LOL that’s 4 more than I read Hahaha 🤣

@jb030958 I know, it’s terrible 🤣

I admire that you can get 4 books read in a month. If I'd quit playing on the computer so much and binge watching netflix/Amazon Prime while knitting, I could probably get more done.

@randystreat it's all relative though isn't it. I deliberately don't have netflix or the like because I know I'd just watch it for hours and since I broke my wrist a few years ago cross stitch, colouring and jigsaws have been very tiring pastimes so reading is about all I do in my spare time

@kjarn Sorry to hear about your wrist. glad that you do have a pastime that you enjoy. The binge watching is only done when I'm knitting.

@randystreat I have had three operations on my wrist and am doing physio so hopefully it will come good so that I can widen my activities when I retire. Knitting and binge watching sounds great to me

@kjarn I couldn't knit right after I had carpal tunnel surgery on my left wrist and hand. So I crocheted. Didn't seem to require so much fine movement. I hope the PT is going well. I'll bet this effects your work, too, or perhaps you're out on leave. I think I had my surgery after I retired.

I broke my wrist at work in June 2018, had surgery and the following year was lots of physio and a gradual return to full time work but we weren't happy with the amount of movement I had and as it is my dominant hand I had more surgery in June 2019. After another year of physio and a gradual return to full time work I developed carpal tunnel in the same hand and a neuroma in the same wrist so had more surgery in June 2020. A year later I'm still doing physio and am back to work 4 days a week. I'm still having problems so am in the process of negotiating a permanent 4 days a week at work and I hope to retire in about three years. My wrist gets very tired quickly so yes it does affect my work too. I might have to teach myself to crochet if its easier to do than knitting.

For me, crocheting didn't require the twisting of my wrists quite as much. But it would seem that the cross stitch wouldn't either, so crochet may be out of the picture too. I'm sorry to hear that you're having so much difficulty. Glad to hear that your job is working with you.
