Books I read in January by kjarn

Books I read in January

From top to bottom:

A fiction that was an enjoyable read
A medical/legal thriller that was enjoyable
A crime fiction that was an interesting read
A psychological thriller that was ok but a bit slow to begin with
A travel book which was more a personal journey and a bit slow, disappointing
How interesting! I have been looking up titles and authors you are reading and sharing, but they are so rarely translated and available in the library. From this pile, only Robin Cook is available, but not with this title. I might give it a try, as it seems the author is mainly writing medical thrillers. Thanks for sharing. It is inspiring.

@monikozi Robin Cook writes both stand alone books and also 12 books that belong to a series. I have found that the stand alone books are not consistent, in fact some are terrible but the Stapleton and Montgomery series are quite good

Thanks for the clarification. I will try to find out if the ones available in the library are part of series.

You seem to have had some very interesting reads this month.

Ah a new Mark Billingham - you've got in there quick! I'm behind, haven't read Cry Baby yet.

@boxplayer this newest one is very different to his others. The next Tom Thorne book “The Murder Book” comes out in June

All new to me. My favourite recent book has been The Language of Flowers. Loved it.

Good job. I read two books in January too! That never happens. I reread the 8th book in the Outlander series and then read newest book. I love Jamie and Claire.

I haven’t read any of these (as usual). I think my tastes in books are a bit different. But I do like how many you read each month! @kwind I also love Jamie and Claire. Only read the 1st book though and have watched the series on Starz.

You always read interesting looking (to me) books. I can't seem to find balance enough to read regularly, so end up doing it in spurts and not reading very many books.

Love your comments on those books!

always nice to see your reading stacks. Kirstie got me a Kindle for Christmas and I just can't bring myself to use it. I prefer a book. She got it for me because my neck and shoulders have been hassling me and she thought a kindle would be easier to hold. But it lacks a certain charm I associate with books.

I started a book on a huge flood that occurred here a long time ago now, but still remembered by many. Got through the introduction and one chapter. Well, it's a start!

@cocobella I would never read if I was on holiday as much as you 😃

@sugarmuser I have a kindle but like you I much prefer a book. I only use the kindle when I go on holiday to save filling up the suitcase with books and when its the only version of a book I can get.
