Books I read in September

From top to bottom:

A psychological thriller which was less than thrilling
A historical fiction that I really enjoyed
A medical/legal thriller that was a bit slow
A general fiction that I enjoyed
A general fiction that was interesting but too long and too wordy
A psychological thriller that was a non event. It was actually an ok read but not as good as her first book.
LOL! I love your short book reviews, Kathy. =)

Evelyn Hugo must have been quite a busy woman to go through seven husbands ;-) I too love reading your reviews.

I love your monthly book images and comments. I haven't heard of any of these however. I'll need to check them out.

Nice collection. I see that Bryce Courtenay and Robin Cook are recurring authors in your list.
What did you mean about the last one that it was a 'non event'?

@monikozi A few years ago I sorted my books alphabetically and I’m slowly working through them, I’m reading a lot of C authors at the moment. The last book failed to meet my expectations. It was average, nowhere near as good as her first book The Girl on the Train.

Oh, thanks for the explanation. The Girl... is one of the books that whet my appetite for thrillers and investigation stories.

Sounds like the historical fiction won the day!

@casablanca it did although I’m not sure I would call it historical fiction.

Sounds like a disappointing month! Shame about the Paula Hawkins - I also enjoyed The Girl...

@boxplayer I probably was a bit harsh about the Paula Hawkins, I think if I hadn’t read The Girl …. and compared I would have said I liked it more. It was actually an ok read.

I've come across the 7 husbands of Evelyn Hugo and it sounded interesting. Is it a worthy book club selection?
October 2nd, 2022
@randystreat I think it would be, I read it for book club

I had forgotten that your covid-19 isolation was quite so recent. I hope you are now fully recovered!
