Books I read in April by kjarn

Books I read in April

From top to bottom:

A crime story that I enjoyed although not as much as her earlier books
A general fiction that I'm really unsure about. It was ridiculous, unrealistic and weird but also had something that compelled me to finish it
A chick lit that had a great first half but a ridiculous second half.
Always look forward to your books of the month!

Yes, Lessons in Chemistry, ridiculous, unrealistic and weird, but I loved it!

Getting very difficult to find good and normal books these days. Thanks for your input!

I loved Lessons in Chemistry - a gentle read but a real lesson in feminism and I adored the sciencey bits!!! Didn't enjoy Nine Perfect Strangers though, won't read another if hers!!

Nine perfect strangers - holiday read where the holiday is so much more memorable than the book. Just started Lessons in Chemistry and not read this Martina Cole book.

Never heard of that middle one, has obviously made an impact on a few people.

@boxplayer I picked it up in the shop but reading the back it didn’t grab me so put it back. I next thought about it when it was the book for April for book club and what swayed me were the hundreds of rave reviews. I enjoyed something about it but it was a strange book.

Again, they say avid readers make the best writers... Hmmm?

Another interesting selection. I read two of the Julia Chapman Dales Detective novels in April. Totally unrealistic but enormous fun!

hmmm, was thinking of reading lessons in chemistry. I am intrigued by the mixed reactions. I agree, I love Liane Moriarty but the ending was a bit ... contrived ... Most of her stories have a great twist so I will eagerly await her next book.

So annoying to start a book that ends up not being worth reading.

Not read any of these - I’m reading another Joanne Harris book although slow going at the moment
